2024 Awards Eligibility
This is one of those things that an author is supposed to do every year and that I almost never actually do. But this year, by golly, I’m actually doing it.
If you’re here because you’re considering my work, I thank you immensely and invite you to reach out if you have questions or would like free samples of the books and stories listed below.
BEST SERIES:
The award nomination I am chasing hardest this year is the Best Series Hugo. I have a whole page here dedicated to how badly I want to lose that award. That is: my ambition here starts and ends with the nomination. If you have room in your heart and in your slate of nominations to include the Ruby Killingsworth series (by: Amanda Cherry; edited by Dawn Vogel; from DefCon One Publishing), I will be forever grateful. This series, which also includes my 2018 debut, had both a novel and a short story collection release in 2024.
BEST NOVEL:
I had two novels and a short story collection release in 2024. In the novel category, for both the Hugo and Nebula Awards, I ask for your consideration of DAWN CALAMITY (By: Amanda Cherry; edited by Karen Eisenbrey; May 28, 2024 from Not A Pipe Publishing).
SHORT FICTION:
In the Novelette category, I would appreciate your consideration of IN THE ARENA (15, 321 words; first published August 13, 2024 as part of the collection AFOUL & AFFAIRS from DefCon One Publishing).
In the Short Story category, please consider SIDEKICK BUSINESS (4,704 words also from the above listed collection, AFOUL & AFFAIRS).
If you’ve made it this far, I thank you greatly. I am happy to provide copies of both my novelette and short story free of charge to those who are considering nominating them. I also have access to a limited quantity of ebooks of all three installments of the Ruby Killingsworth series I am able to send to Hugo voters considering them for a Best Series nomination. As I have stated elsewhere, if my series makes it onto the final slate of nominees, I intend to provide all three books to voters free of charge as part of the Hugo Voter packet.
Cheers and happy reading!
